Checks run from your browser, not from a server we own — so this is latency to the venue from wherever you are, on your network, right now. A venue that geo-blocks your region will show as unreachable here and behave the same way in the package, where it lands in book.excluded with the reason attached.

These venues are fully supported in the package. Their public endpoints just don't send CORS headers, so a browser cannot call them — nothing to do with the venue being up. Check one yourself with sory test-venue <name>.
